The Modeled column is recomputed from the exact values written to the .PAN (PVsyst single-diode model on the emitted Isc/Voc/Imp/Vmp, Gamma and Rs/Rsh). It is a self-consistency check on the file itself. Large gaps mean the underlying CEC fit is imperfect and the PAN will inherit that error.

Methodology & Assumptions

Same circuit, different bookkeeping

The CEC (De Soto six-parameter) model and PVsyst both solve the single-diode equation. The translation re-expresses CEC's coefficients in PVsyst's terms rather than re-fitting anything:

Gamma = a_ref / (Ns · k·Tref/q): CEC stores the ideality factor as a voltage (a_ref). PVsyst wants it dimensionless.
RSerie = R_s: series resistance is one constant in both models, copied directly.
RShunt = R_sh_ref: CEC's reference shunt resistance is PVsyst's shunt at STC.
Temperature coefficients (muISC, muVocSpec, muPmpReq) are unit-converted from CEC's alpha_sc / beta_oc / gamma_r.

Important: PVsyst doesn't take the diode parameters verbatim. It re-fits Gamma and Iₒ so the curve passes through the Isc, Imp/Vmp and Voc points given your RSerie and RShunt. So the keypoints, series and shunt resistance are what actually drive PVsyst's model. The Gamma we report is the CEC-equivalent reference. For some modules (often thin-film) PVsyst's re-fit can disagree and report a negative maximum series resistance. Adjust RSerie or Voc as it prompts.

Where output may differ from an OEM PAN

A manufacturer's official PAN is fit to measured flash-test data across irradiance and temperature. This file is reconstructed from CEC's STC-anchored coefficients, so the closest agreement is at STC. Expect small differences in low-light efficiency (driven by the Rp_0 / Rp_Exp shunt model) and in the Isc temperature response (CEC's Adjust factor is not transferable). Bypass-diode reverse characteristics and the IAM profile use PVsyst defaults.
